The Opportunity

Primary Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, coordinate and conduct transactions involved in the procurement of manufacturing materials, tools, supplies, services, etc., in accordance with company guidelines and policies. Recommend and implement local departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the activities of department employees in a consistent and impartial manner, to include planning/scheduling work, participating in recruiting and performance management activities, ensuring compliance with company policies, rules and regulations, addressing employee concerns and promoting team work and positive employee attitudes.
  • Develop our network of suppliers (Domestic and International) for mechanical, electrical and electronic components and equipment and to identify and engage new suppliers where appropriate.
  • By regular risk analysis, ensure the continuity of all supplies in the event of political, commercial or other disturbances.

  • Improve the percentage of on-time deliveries with agreed targets.

  • Assist the Quality department in ensuring that material supplies are fit-for-purpose.

  • Ensure that suppliers are meeting the agreed KPIs and targets.

  • Aid the selection of new suppliers through discussions with engineering and quality departments.
  • Ensure tooling is in place to meet the current and future requirements and is maintained to support company’s demands.
  • Manage projects leading to component cost reductions, in particular utilizing low-cost manufacturing countries.
  • Liaise with other Rotork manufacturing sites sharing knowledge, experience and co-coordinating activities within the global supply base

  • Five or more years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • An Engineering or Production background
